This is a unique opportunity to work for a large Mid-Tier builder in the Sydney market. The company have been in business for many years and currently turn over $1b. They build from start to finish, ensuring optimum consistency, cost efficiency and quality of finishes on every project they take on. This builder works across a range of sectors from retail and industrial to commercial high rise, sport and recreation, multi-residential, data center’s and health projects. Typically, projects range from $50m – $1b and they have an array of strong blue-chip clients that they work with from their relationships in Sydney. They are renowned for possessing a superior level of expertise and experience in the industry and winning awards for building excellence.
WHAT’S ON OFFER
Our client is looking for a Services Manager to work on complex major projects up to $1b. This is a great opportunity to get into this business and work with some excellent operators at the top of their game. You will be the lead guy across all Services Engineers and will be heavily involved in delivery and front-end bids / tenders with plenty of client interaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the delivery of the service design aspects of a construction project in accordance with the design brief
- Establish, monitor and manage service design and procurement program
- Manage the installation of building and critical services to ensure compliance with local regulatory bodies and the building code
- Supervision of construction works subcontractors through to project delivery
- Planning of construction sequence and safe working procedures
- Clearly understand drawings, specifications, programs or scope of works for each subcontractor package
- Manage and assess sub-contractor claims and recommend for approval
- Consult on project construction program and subcontractor deadlines
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10yrs experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contractor on complex projects
- Proven experience managing building services packages on complex construction projects valued $100M+
- Experience with the installation, maintenance and testing of essential Building services – Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic
- Sound understanding and application of statutory legislation including knowledge of the OHS Act, Building Code of Australia and the relevant services Australian Standards.
- Strong communication & leadership skills, you will be managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
