Our Client is a dynamic and innovative data centre organization at the forefront of technological advancement. With $2 billion worth of projects in the pipeline until 2027 in Melbourne alone, including a groundbreaking $450 million data centre, they are seeking a skilled Project Design Manager to drive their design initiatives to new heights.

Role Overview: As the Project Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end design process, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion. You will collaborate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and external consultants to translate our vision into construction-ready documentation. Additionally, you will support key permitting processes and liaise with internal delivery teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage internal design processes, overseeing projects from concept to completion with support from internal SMEs.
  • Engage and manage a team of consultants and General Contractors to transform design concepts into construction documentation.
  • Support Development Application (DA), Building Permitting, and Town Planning processes.
  • Coordinate with Internal Delivery Teams to ensure timely project milestones.
  • Assist with Long-Lead Equipment & General Contractor Supplier procurement.
  • Ensure end-customer technical requirements are integrated into our designs.
  • Provide support for end-customer design-related inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Proven experience in project design management, preferably within the data centre or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of building services and construction processes.
  • Experience liaising with contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
